There are many naturally occurring ‘drugs’ that are finding increased popularity throughout the world; the ease of posting such substances to customers found over the Internet means that legal drug sales are reaching an all time high. Forgive the pun.
Top of the list of the legal narcotics is Salvia Divinorum, a member of the sage family and native to Mexico. Salvia Divinorum induces intense dreamlike experiences in its users and is said to be as potent as LSD; it is the most potent naturally occurring hallucinogenic substance.
But Salvia Divinorum’s growing popularity may be bringing it the kind of attention that it doesn’t want: state and government legislators are jumping at the chance to score some much needed political points by speaking out about it. Two states have already banned Salvia Divinorum while many others are beginning the process with the hopes of making its purchase or even possession a crime.
