Dining out when you’re abroad is just one of those things: it just has to be done! Fortunately when you’re on vacation in Phuket dining out is surprisingly inexpensive considering the great quality of food that is served.
Restaurants in Phuket deal with the locals as well as those on vacation (with the possible exception of places like Patong) so the quality of food simply has to be up to scratch. It has to be cheap, too. The (literally) thousands of restaurants in Phuket (as well as food stalls) all vying for your custom in Phuket mean that food is great quality, it’s served with a smile, and it is outstanding value. Falling short would mean certain doom.
There are higher-end restaurants in Phuket in which you can go to eat but don’t make the mistake of thinking that higher prices indicate better quality. Higher prices, instead, indicate higher overheads on the venue in question.
While the restaurants in Phuket specialize in local dishes (and it is entirely possible to pick up a full meal for under $2) there is a wide variety of choice available from Asian to Western foods. All are of excellent quality and provide great value.
