Apple recently announced that a beta version of the iPhone SDK was available to developers. Four days after it was announced 100,000 iPhone downloads had taken place, with the number still growing at a phenomenal pace. Surely there cannot be 100,000 people or groups developing for the iPhone Downloads. Get ready for a surge of new software if they are iPhone apps downloads.
Big names in the gaming industry like Namco and PopCap are excited about the iPhone SDK download and about its capabilities. Now at least they have a real opportunity to test this new piece of kit properly. Titles such as Pac-man, Galaga, Bejeweled, Zuma and Peggle are rumored to be coming to the iPod touch / iPhone via App Store.
Interest in the iPhone SDK is fairly high and this bodes well for Apple – this is no great surprise though as there is a hardcore fan base that hang on its every move. An event such as the release of the apps for iPhone SDK is bound to generate substantial excitement.
